• Inflation in the US edged up slightly in September but remained close to the Federal Reserve's target. 

  • The Fed's preferred inflation gauge, the personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index rose 0.2% for the month and 2.1% over the past year, aligning with analyst expectations.

• Joining the growing trend of traditional finance institutions embracing blockchain technology, Swiss bank UBS is launching a tokenized investment fund built on the Ethereum network. 

  • This move positions UBS as the latest major player to enter the space, following in the footsteps of BlackRock and Franklin Templeton who launched tokenized funds backed by US Treasuries. 

• Bitcoin jumped to a record high, part of a wave of trades across global markets in response to Donald Trump emerging victorious over Democratic rival Kamala Harris in the US presidential election.

  • In this election cycle, Trump made appealing to crypto supporters a key aspect of his campaign strategy. He spoke at this year’s Bitcoin conference, launched his own tokens, and pledged to establish the U.S. as the “crypto capital of the planet.” Also, he pledged to get rid of SEC chair Gensler, and his victory is certainly bullish for the crypto space. 

• Stablecoin payment platform Bridge has acquired Triangle, a web3 wallet infrastructure platform founded by Stripe alumni.

  • The Triangle team will now join Bridge to contribute to the development of scalable stablecoin systems.

• MicroStrategy, the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, announced a bold plan to raise $42 billion over the next three years.

  • This capital will be allocated towards increasing its Bitcoin holdings as a treasury reserve asset, aiming to enhance shareholder value through the digital transformation of capital.

• Cryptocurrency users from across the globe are welcoming the success of Polymarket, a Polygon-based on-chain prediction market.

  • During the U.S. presidential election this week, it handled enormous traffic increases with zero delays and surprisingly evolved into a go-to source of live news about election results.
