• President-elect Donald Trump has selected pro-crypto advocate Paul Atkins to chair the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). 

  • By selecting Atkins, Trump is delivering on a promise he made to the crypto community during his campaign. 

• Trump also endeavors to expand the power of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission by granting it oversight of a significant portion of the $3 trillion digital asset market. 

  • The move would come as part of a broader effort by Trump and Republicans in Congress to roll back some of the regulatory power the SEC has wielded under outgoing SEC chairman Gary Gensler. 

• MicroStrategy has added 15,400 Bitcoin to its holdings, bringing its total Bitcoin stash to 402,100 BTC.

  • These recent purchases were made at an average price of approximately $95,976 per Bitcoin. With a current total investment of $23.4 billion, MicroStrategy has achieved significant returns on its Bitcoin holdings. 

• Hyperliquid, a decentralized perpetual trading platform and Layer 1 chain, recently launched its token, HYPE.

  • The token has seen a significant price increase, and at the time of writing ran to $9. 

• New York regulators are on the verge of approving Ripple's new stablecoin, RLUSD.

  • The approval would allow Ripple to offer the stablecoin to the public, making it a player in the regulated digital finance market. 

• Grayscale Investments has applied with the NYSE to launch a Solana ETF.

  • This would make Grayscale the first issuer of a Solana ETF, building on their existing management of a significant portion of Solana's assets.

• Coinbase has integrated Apple Pay, allowing users to easily buy crypto like Bitcoin and Dogecoin using their Apple devices.

  • This integration streamlines the process of adding funds to a crypto wallet and provides a convenient way to buy and sell crypto assets.
