📈Macro Cryptocurrency News

• Inflation in the United States remained steady in November, increasing 2.7% year-over-year.

  • This aligns with economists' predictions and suggests that the Federal Reserve may continue its path of interest rate cuts at next week’s FOMC meeting. 

• A deputy in the Russian parliament proposed the creation of a strategic bitcoin (BTC) reserve to tackle sanctions imposed on the country, state-owned news agency Ria reported on Monday.

• MicroStrategy has added 21,550 Bitcoin to its holdings, bringing its total Bitcoin stash to 423,650 BTC. 

  • These recent purchases were made at an average price of approximately $98,783 per Bitcoin. With a total investment of $25.6 billion, MicroStrategy continues to demonstrate its commitment to Bitcoin as a long-term investment.

• Phantom wallet is expanding to the Sui ecosystem, offering a single platform for managing multiple blockchains, including Sui. 

  • Users will soon be able to bridge assets, swap tokens, and interact with dApps on Sui directly from their Phantom wallet. 

• The SEC is expected to reject two spot Solana ETF applications. This decision, reportedly made by outgoing Chair Gary Gensler, is not a big surprise and many are postulating that a SOL spot ETF is inevitable in 2025 when Atkins takes over.  

• U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will be appointing former PayPal Chief Operating Officer David Sacks as his "White House A.I. & Crypto Czar."

  • Trump noted that Sacks will work on a legal framework so the Crypto industry has the clarity it has been asking for, and can thrive in the U.S. 

• Microsoft shareholders have voted against a proposal to invest in Bitcoin.

  • Microsoft's board of directors opposed the idea, citing Bitcoin's volatility and the company's existing investment strategies.
