• President Donald Trump has issued a full and unconditional pardon to Ross Ulbricht, the Silk Road online marketplace creator.

  • Ulbricht, who had been serving two life sentences plus 40 years for his role in facilitating over $200 million in illegal trade, was arrested in 2013 and convicted in 2015 on charges of drug trafficking, money laundering, and computer hacking.

• Michael Saylor strikes again. MicroStrategy has further increased its Bitcoin holdings, recently acquiring 11,000 BTC for approximately $1.1 billion at an average price of $101,191 per coin. 

  • This acquisition was funded through the sale of an equivalent amount of MicroStrategy shares.

• The CEO of Bank of America has indicated that the financial industry is prepared to embrace crypto payments, provided that regulators provide the necessary approvals.

• President Trump shocked the crypto world and created a buying frenzy when he stealthily launched his own $TRUMP meme coin. 

  • The coin hit a staggering $75 before dropping significantly after launching an official $MELANIA coin two days later. 

• President Trump has appointed CFTC Commissioner Caroline Pham as acting chair.

  • A Republican commissioner nominated by former President Biden, Pham has spearheaded several digital asset initiatives, including establishing a Digital Asset Markets subcommittee and proposing a regulatory framework for digital assets.

• World Liberty Financial, a crypto project linked to President Trump, has shifted $24.6 million from USDC into Ether (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Tron (TRX), Link (LINK), Aave (AAVE), and Ethena (ENA). 

• President Donald Trump has appointed Mark Uyeda, a Republican SEC commissioner, as acting chair of the agency. 

  • Uyeda succeeds Gary Gensler, whose aggressive approach under former President Biden often put him at odds with Wall Street and the crypto industry–this move bodes well for the crypto industry. 

• Digital Currency Group (DCG) and its former CEO, Soichoro "Michael" Moro, have agreed to pay a combined $38.5 million in civil penalties to settle securities fraud charges brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

• TikTok resumed service in the U.S. on Sunday after a brief outage of less than 24 hours.

  • In a statement on X, the platform confirmed it is "restoring service" and pledged to work on a long-term solution with President Trump–he temporarily halted the ban through an executive order on his first day in office.
